Forgiving my Son's Killer

Description

To mark the 50th anniversary of the start of the troubles in Northern Ireland, presenter Colm Flynn goes to meet Bridie McGoldrick. In July 1996 Bridie and her husband Michael received the worst news that any parents could. Their only child, Michael, had been cruelly murdered by the LVF in the period of tension that always precedes the July Orange parades in Northern Ireland. He left a wife and child, with another baby on the way. Absolutely heartbroken, and having lost the will to live, Bridie and Michael devised a plan to take their own lives. However, Bridie says it was her faith in Jesus that turned everything around at the last minute.
